Dr. Pelletier is a trained practitioner of Autistic and Spectrum disorders.

AUTOIMMUNE DISEASE:  Do you treat autoimmune diseases like Rheumatoid          
arthritis, ankylosing spondylitits,  eczema, Hashimotos thyroiditis, Lupus and others?

Yes.  All of the auto-immune disorders have common physiologic threads that respond well to immune modulation.  We work to uncover the source of your immune insult and try to remove the driving factor.

BIO-IDENTICAL HORMONES:  What are “Bio-Identical” hormones?

Bio-identical hormones made from plant sterols and are “identical” in structure to your own innate hormones.  They are exact replicas.  They are completely different in form and function from typical synthetic hormones such as Premarin, Provera, birth control pills and others.  Both Dr. Huber and Dr. Pellitier use bio-identical hormones to treat hormone imbalances.

CANCER:  What are able to do for cancer patients?

At least 20% of our practice involves the care and treatment of cancer patients.  We offer an approach that not only serves to reduce the side effects from chemo, radiation and surgical intervention, but will also increase the effectiveness of such treatments. We work to strengthen your immune system while guiding you in lifestyle habits that reduce cancers ability to grow or recur.  
    

CHILDREN:  Do you treat children?

We see pediatric patients for many different metabolic issues:  ADD, ADHD, allergies, immune issues, rashes, behavioral and sleep issues.

COST:  What services are included in the price of my initial consultation?

Your initial evaluation involves meeting for a one hour appointment with one of our board certified physicians and a second clinician trained in Naturopathic and Homeopathic medicine to gain a thorough history and clinical assessment.  Some blood tests may be done at the initial appointment if they are felt to be warranted.  An Electro-Dermal Screening test is performed to aid in assessment of your body systems.  Any lab results or prior test results you provide will be reviewed in light of your symptom complex.  A recommended treatment course will be outlined including discussion of further tests needed.

DIABETES:  Are you able to treat diabetes or reduce my need for medication?

Diabetes and its treatment is one of the major passions of our staff.  We have experienced great success in improving the glucose management of our patients, as well as reducing the long term consequences of this disease.

DIETITIAN:  Do you offer help with diet?

We have three dietitians on staff and have researched and written a great deal on health promoting nutritional approaches.  We feel our approach is revolutionary and second to none.  We possess an in depth understanding of all dietary positions from Adkins to vegan and work to tailor appropriate nutritional guidance for all of our patients.  We can assist you with weight loss, sports nutrition, food allergy guidance and much more, including recipes.

FOOD ALLERGIES:  What can be done to diagnose or treat food allergies?

We prefer IgG and/or IgE blood tests to evaluate food allergies.  We prefer to work with Immuno Labs or Alletess labs for these tests.  We have dietitians to assist you with ideas and support to make food allergies management as simple as possible.

HEART DISEASE:  Do you treat heart disease, high cholesterol, and hypertension?

Yes we do.  Most of these issues are related to your diet and lifestyle and we have specific strategies to address these problems.  Drug therapy may be warranted but typically there are supplements that augment the effectiveness of the drugs you’re on or may even reduce your need for drug therapy.

HORMONES:  Are you able to assist me with “Bio-Identical” hormone replacement?

INSURANCE:  Are your services covered by insurance?  Would my “Flex Spending Account” cover any expenses?  Are lab tests covered by insurance?

We are not contracted by any insurance company.  You can submit our fees to your insurance company as “out of network” expense but you will be responsible for payment at the time of service and we do not file insurance papers.  We will provide you with the appropriate billing codes so that you can submit a claim to your insurance carrier.  Lab expenses are typically covered by your insurance with minimal out of pocket expense but this can vary depending on your individual policy.  Any expenses incurred at LMI should be allowable under a typical “Flex Spending Account”, as these therapies are prescribed by a licensed physician.

LOCATION:  Do I have to come to your office or can you work with me long distance?

We do work with patients via long distance and can arrange for phone consults.

PURPOSE:   What do you do?  I want to make some lifestyle improvements to benefit my overall health.  Can you be my primary care physician?

Our physicians are board certified but we are not set up to function as your primary care physician.  We are metabolic and integrative care consultants.  We address the functional physiology that leads to the symptoms you express.  We focus on the body as a whole and work to unravel the biochemical malfunctions and alterations that have lead you to feel the way you do.  If you have a  defined diagnoses then we work to control symptoms, but perhaps more importantly we will seek to understand what lead to it and how to reverse it.

WEIGHT LOSS:  Can you help me lose weight?

Absolutely and emphatically, yes.  We have many avenues to address weight management.  We will address the nutritional aspects and provide you with a healthy eating plan that does not involve counting calories or starvation tactics.  We will also investigate metabolic issues that may be limiting your bodies ability to shed fat.  We can also address craving patterns employing simple nutritional elements to increase your rate of success.
